First Night of Class- Reading Chapters 1-3 Buehl Text

The one thing that stood out to me from this week's reading one was importance of front loading. Knowledge and the process to obtain knowledge is essential. Knowledge and Comprehension go hand in hand. Honestly, there were many ideas in these first chapters that struck a match for me- that really broadened my appreciation for reading itself. It will be interesting to see how I can utilize these ideas in my own classroom.

Alright, well, this is exciting. I am starting this blog for an Education course I am taking through Columbia College. I am not a "blogger", and I am not sure that I will EVER have anything worth sharing with the world (which is essentially what I will be doing when I push this orange PUBLISH button), but I will certainly give this a go. The course that this blog is being created for is Education 338- Teaching Reading in the Content Areas. I am looking forward to learning strategies and concepts in regards to being a more proactive and influential reading teacher for my students.
