Lesson Plan Brainstorming
I actually have thought about my lesson plans but have not decided on a specific direction that I would like to go. I figured I could do some sort of integrated lesson plan for a specific unit. I am observing in a 5th grade ELA class, for this course, next week and I hope to get some inspiration in a specific direction. I suppose you all will be the first to know if that in fact happens. I am curious to see if anyone is my blog group has an idea on what they will be doing!
I am considering teaching a lesson on Word Problems, yes Math!!!! I help tutor students in several different subjects and when we get to the word problems everyone builds up a BIG UGH....and GROANS...and ROLLS EYES...and often SHUTS DOWN! This may change. I am not sure how to apply everything we are talking about to that session, but it was my thought for tonight.
ReplyDelete5th grade ELA, some of the best reads happen in 5th grade. I am looking at doing an integrated unit. I like to do lessons/units that I can later use in my classroom. I am trying to decide if I am using a certain book...which I have few in mind. I am leaning toward The Watson's go to Birmingham. Set in the 1960's, The Civil Rights movement, Jazz...but I don't know.
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds very interesting!
Delete5th grade ELA is such a fun time. I did a lot of subbing with the age group, they are at a fun age, can't wait to see what you come up with.
